
Dharma Cortes
Dharma Cortes, PhD, is a Senior Research Scientist and an expert in the development and evaluation of mobile, cloud-based web, and communication interventions, as well as online communities for high-risk populations. She has extensive expertise in healthy shopping behavior, health education, and dietary behavioral modification for high-risk groups. Dr. Cortes designed the Ready program, an integrated healthy shopping and eating initiative that applies principles of behavioral economics to promote healthier eating behaviors. She is also leading an mHealth intervention that adapts the evidence-based Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) to help prevent type 2 diabetes in women with a recent history of gestational diabetes. Additionally, she serves as a Clinical Instructor at Cambridge Health Alliance and in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
